This webinar will focus on the cause of fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and will address how drinking during pregnancy can result in developmental and cognitive disabilities. The presenter will provide an overview of FAS and FASD including the distinct features associated with both and will explain the impact these life-long disabilities have on individuals and their families.
Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program, the participants will self-report knowledge gain related to the effects of maternal alcohol use on the developing fetus and intent to change practice by including information or tools presented into professional practice.
Continuing Nursing Education Contact Hours: This program has been awarded 1.5 contact hours.
Social Work Continuing Education Hours: NJ Social Workers – An application has been made for consideration of 1.5 general CE credits for the course.
CADC Recertification: Application has been made to the Addiction Professionals Certification Board for 1.5 recertification credits.
